WATER SHED PROGRAMME

Impact of the works :

People of this area are convinced that the problem of 'water' can be stored effectively by this water harvesting works. As a result, in some of the villages people have started this water harvesting works independently. Also the district authority, leadership and donors joined hand in planning and executing the water harvesting structures in the area.


Due to these works the water table in 1287 wells and 1207 bore wells have come up during rainy season.


The production of crops in 8489 acres of benefited land has increased due to the support irrigation of this works. Hence the income of the farmers and labourers have increased accordingly. Drinking water problems were solved in 22 Villages under the project. The social impact is also noteworthy, Due to this participatory methodology over and above this economic benefits.


The post graduate students of Lokbharti had carried out survey to find out the effect of water harvesting works in Sanosara and Maidhar area.
