Bhatt, Lok Bharti, Trust has instituted a scheme of memorial lectures to
   perpetuate his memory.

are funded by Shri Madhusudan Kapadia.

has donated for organizing lectures on topics of history in the memory of Shri
   Rambhai Patel.

w Shri Mulshankarbhai M. Bhatt Memorial Lectures on Education : A lecture on
education is arranged from the donation of Shri Rameshbhai Soni.

These memorial lectures contribute significantly to intellectual development of the teachers as well as the students.

6. Different methods of teaching and evaluation :

(1) The Government of India and U.G.C. lays great emphasis on different methods of education and evaluation, but there seems little improvement.

We at Lok Bharti have taken care of it from the very beginning. Here teachers are given a free hand to experiment with new ways of teaching and evaluation. Their findings are subjected to critical examination by the teaching fraternity of Lok Bharti.

Like teaching, we at Lok Bharti use different methods of evaluation such as question paper, assignments, class room presentation, report writing, survey-conclusion, interview notes, selection of data, observation notes, practical work, specimen examination etc. These methods are good not only to test their memory, but also their understanding, logic and comprehension of wider implications.

(2) Continuous evaluation and internal evaluation given 50% weight-age :

Lok Bharti has introduce 50% internal evaluation system at graduation and post graduation levels from its inception. Not only that, a student is required to pass separately in the internal as well as the external examinations.

50% internal evaluation consists of three tests; one of them is an oral test. The concerned teacher is given autonomy in testing by various methods. So the student works for the entire academic year which makes his studies easy and natural.

7. The study circles, cultural activities and lectures :

We have a number of study circles such as
w  Literary Club, Drama group, Music-circle, Planning forum, Agriculture
w  Animal husbandry group, Health club, Science club, Preservation project,
Friends’ circle, Youth club, study circle etc.
in which enthusiastic and studious teachers and curious students organize such societies and they are dissolved according to academic needs.

Festivals : Lok Bharti has developed the tradition of celebrating various festivals in their true spirit. Gandhi Jayanti as Martyrs Day, Vivekananda Jayanti, Christmas, Raksha bandhan, Independence Day, Republic Day are some of the festivals celebrated on the campus. Students’ active participation in the festivals has proved very effective to inculcate in them artistic out-look, patriotism, and a healthy attitude towards man-woman relationship.

Rural oriented attitude and sensitivity are cultivated with the help of our Cultural Programmes

8. Dedication

Dedication of staff members is of supreme importance and has been attached to responsiblity and quality. Pay scales are not offred as per designations

9. Elements that strengthen Higher Education in India :
The following are some of such elements :

w Dignity of labor : To over-come a long-standing misconception regarding
manual work, it is necessary to reinstate the dignity of labor in education,
which is in need of radical changes.

w The training in Citizenship : There are individuals in India but not citizens. As a
result, in everyday life, we find a serious lack of sense of citizenship. The
lessons in citizenship can be imparted through community life, mutual co-
operation, helping the sick and the victims of natural calamities and the
   activities of social work.

w Value-oriented higher education : Indian higher education is in a state of
paralysis for want of values. Lok Bharti has given a place of pride to values in
education. We have proved that values are important in our lives.

w Work experience (Internship) : Before a student is awarded his degree, he
has to test his knowledge in the society and day-to-day life. We have found the
internship very effective medium of education.

w Varied teaching and evaluation methods, continuous evaluation, 50% internal
evaluation are inevitable academic needs of the day.

w All institutions of higher education should be made autonomous and
accountable, even at the cost of certain risks. Responsibility is necessary to
   make colleges responsible.
