LOK BHARTI COMMUNITY SCIENCE CENTRE

Lok Bharti Community Science Centre, established in 1973, gradually developed into a full-fledged science centre of department of science. The basic objective of this centre is to develop scientific approach in every sphere of life; to acquaint students with the new inventions in the field of science, to know and understand science behind everyday life and natural occurrences and to be free from superstitions.

Target groups :

w	The students studying in Lok Bharti
w	The teachers and students of primary and secondary schools of the surrounding villages
w	Post-basic schools of Saurashtra region
w	Farmers, women and rural people and
w	People interested in science education and ecology.

A conscious effort is being made to make science education easy, interesting, cheap and life-oriented for all our target groups.

Programmes :

w	To organize programmes like lectures, exhibitions, slideshows, film-shows, sky-watching, science fairs, group discussion in the nearby schools.
w	To produce, propagate cheap. smile scientific toys teaching easily the principles of science.
w	To supply cheap science literature at concessional rates and to prepare such science literature
w	To organize programmes suitable for villages and schools for eradication of superstitions.
w	To hold programmes for the protection of environment and removal of pollution.
w	To plan, with the help of District Education Bhavan the student - oriented science training programme.
w	To popularize and distribute, with due understanding of how to use, energy saving equipments like smocklesschula (stove) bio-gas plant, solar lantern, solar cooker, windmill, gas fire, solar hot water system etc.
w	To set up energy park and science park.
