Improved
Seeds and Distribution :
From the very beginning, programmes are taken up to produce improved seeds
and hybrid seeds of different crops.
In seed production work and their follow up for testing of germination and
purity, students and workers of institutions participate. Students get
trained in process.
Continous effort is made to create awareness , among the farmers by arrnging
crop exhibitions, trials, meetings of farmers, etc. The Farmers visit the
campus in a big number. Right from the inception of the institution, trials
and experiments on varities of crops have been going on
Experiments :
|
1. |
An Experiments of cultar-chemical : |
| |
Since 1995-96 40m
ml cultar per tree is applied to increase Mango Production. It
advanced the flowering time of mango by one month. there is 100%
flowering all over the tree. So, Mango fruits ripen early and its
brings high prices and more income. |

|
|
2. |
New Variety of drum Stick :
|
| |
A new
Variety of drum stick known as "Sargam" hasbeen introduced. It is a
one year crop and trees grow from 8-10 feet high. Its seeds are sown
during rainy season, at a distance of 8 x 8. The drum stick are erady
after five and a half month giving the production for five months.
One tree yields 40 kgs of drum sticks. It requires less water, The
variety is becoming popular very speedily |

3. |
Organic Farming : |
|
Since last
two years efforts are beign made on experimental basis to turn towards
organic farming through less tillage, mulching, natural development of
natural elements in the soil and to develop suitable farming
methods. But the famine has ruined the experiments yet it is hoped
this method will be popular in the next 2-3 years. |
Educational
Correlation :
Best educational
results have been acheived by associating education with agriculture:
wThe students are trained in the method of pre-planning
w
It trains them for making provisions of seeds , tools, man power, mechanical
power and animal power as per the plan.
w
They acquire ability to complete work on time with accuracy and care.
w
They develop skill to work economically, without waste of and with maximum
profit
w
They learn to keep
accounts and find out profit or loss.
w
They learn to make self evaluation of their work.
w
They get sound
knowledge of following processes through participation in
direct practical work
» To prepare soil
» Preparation of sowing
» Seeds
» Distance Pattern
» Weeding
» Proportion of fertilizer
»
Threshing
»
Inter culturing
» Rogging
»
Quality wise grading.
